According to CNN, AI-generated videos showing what appear to be underage girls in sexual clothing or positions have gathered millions of likes on TikTok. The platform’s rules prohibit such content. The findings come from research by Maldita.es, a Spain-based non-profit that studies online disinformation.
Researchers found more than a dozen accounts posting videos featuring AI-generated girls wearing tight clothing, lingerie or school uniforms. The accounts have hundreds of thousands of followers combined. Comments on many videos included links to chats on Telegram that offered child pornography for purchase.
Report Details and Platform Response
Carlos Hernández-Echevarría, assistant director at Maldita.es, led the research. His team flagged 15 accounts and 60 videos to TikTok on December 2. The accounts had nearly 300,000 followers total. Their 3,900 videos had more than 2 million likes combined.
TikTok responded that 14 accounts did not violate rules. One account was restricted. Of the 60 videos reported, TikTok said 46 did not violate policies. It removed or restricted 14 videos. After appeals, TikTok removed three more videos and restricted another.
Thirteen accounts remained active as of Wednesday evening. Some accounts described their videos as „delicious-looking high school girls“ or „junior models.“ In some cases, accountholders used TikTok’s AI Alive feature to animate still images. Other videos appeared to have been created using external AI tools.
Policy Enforcement Questions
TikTok says it has zero tolerance for content that shows or promotes youth sexual abuse. Its community guidelines prohibit accounts focused on AI images of youth in clothing suited for adults or sexual poses. The company uses vision, audio and text-based tools with human teams to moderate content.
Broader Context
Between April and June 2025, TikTok removed more than 189 million videos and banned more than 108 million accounts. The company says 99% of content violating its policies on nudity and body exposure of young people was removed proactively.
The report raises questions about TikTok’s ability to enforce its own policies. Tech platforms face increased pressure to protect young users as more jurisdictions pass online safety legislation. Australia’s under-16 social media ban went into effect this week.
Researchers reported the websites and Telegram accounts to police in Spain. Telegram says it removed more than 909,000 public groups and channels related to child sexual abuse material in 2025.
