Google introduced its next generation of Pixel hardware at a celebrity-filled event in Brooklyn, showcasing new phones and AI capabilities alongside a refreshed smartwatch and earbuds. The company highlighted features aimed at anticipating user needs and improving photos and videos across the lineup. According to CBS News MoneyWatch, the event featured appearances by Jimmy Fallon, Alex Cooper, Lando Norris and Nick Jonas.

Pixel 10 lineup and AI-first features

Google’s new suite includes four Pixel 10 phones, the Pixel 4 Watch and revamped Pixel earbuds. The phones introduce an AI-powered feature called “Magic Cue,” designed to anticipate information needs, such as recognizing an airline’s phone number and displaying flight details. Another tool, “Camera Coach,” suggests optimal framing and lighting while composing shots.

Rick Osterloh, Google’s senior vice president of platforms and devices, said the aim is to make devices more “personal and proactive.” He described the approach as “personal intelligence,” noting that the phones are designed to anticipate what users are trying to do rather than simply responding to commands.

Pricing for the Pixel 10 lineup starts at $800 for the base model, $1,000 for the Pro and $1,200 for the Pro XL. A foldable version is priced at $1,800. Three new Pixel phones arrive in stores August 28, while the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is slated for October 9.

Wearables, ecosystem, and Gemini expansion

Pixel 4 Watch and broader device support

The Pixel 4 Watch is Google’s first smartwatch equipped with Gemini, the company’s AI assistant. The device adds new health and safety features, including emergency satellite communications. Google said Gemini will expand to TVs, smart speakers, smart displays and cars this fall.

Google also unveiled updated Pixel earbuds alongside the phones and watch, continuing its strategy of layering AI capabilities across hardware since 2023. The company framed the additions as part of a broader effort to streamline how users retrieve information, create videos and capture higher-quality photos.

In a separate announcement tied to the event, Google said NBA star Stephen Curry will serve as a “performance adviser” on its products under a new multi-year partnership. The Associated Press contributed to the report, per CBS News.
