Google unveils Pixel 10 lineup, Watch 4 and Pro Fold

Stage reveal: sleek Pixel phones, a partially open foldable phone, domed smartwatch and earbuds on reflective table.

Google’s Made by Google 2025 event confirmed the Pixel 10 lineup, introduced the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Pixel Watch 4, and detailed updates across Pixel Buds and Gemini-powered features. According to CNET, the show mixed product reveals with live demos and guest appearances in a late-night format.

Pixel hardware lineup arrives with new AI and durability claims

Preorders for the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL begin today, with availability starting Aug. 28. The Pixel 10 series adds Pro Res Zoom on the Pro models, enabling up to 100x zoom with generative AI past 30x to sharpen details; CNET noted both impressive and puzzling results during testing in Paris. The phones also support Qi2 magnetic charging under a branding Google calls Pixelsnap, with magnets for accessory attachment.

Google introduced the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, describing IP68 dust and water resistance and positioning it as a step forward for foldable durability. The event also highlighted that Pixel 10 will be sold in Mexico for the first time, shared during a live translation demo.

Pixel Watch 4 adds real-time workout guidance and background activity detection that credits unlogged exercise. It can detect a loss of pulse and automatically contact emergency services. The watch continues a familiar design but with a domed screen that CNET reports is 50% brighter than the prior model, peaking at 3,000 nits.

Audio updates and Gemini-powered experiences

Google expanded its audio lineup with Pixel Buds 2a, described as an affordable $130 pair with active noise cancellation, a smaller and lighter fit, and a twist-to-adjust stabilizer. For existing Pixel Buds Pro 2 owners, a software update next month will add head-gesture call control, live Gemini interactions in noisy places, adaptive audio that balances cancellation with important sounds, and hearing protection from very loud sounds.

Magic Cue and camera coaching arrive on-device

Google unveiled Magic Cue, a Gemini-based feature that can analyze prior messages, emails and photos on-device to surface details like reservations and flight times, keeping data off the cloud. The company also previewed broader “agentic” AI ambitions, with Rick Osterloh saying more capabilities are coming this year.

Camera Coach in the Pixel Camera app uses AI to suggest improvements before capture, such as repositioning the subject, adjusting framing, lowering to eye level, or enabling Portrait mode. Live demos showed the tool guiding better composition during the event.
