Google is expanding AI Mode worldwide and layering in agentic and personalized capabilities designed to deepen how people search within Google. According to Yahoo Finance, citing Google’s announcement, the feature will now be available far beyond its original markets and begin handling tasks like finding restaurant reservations directly from Search.
Global rollout and availability
As part of the expansion, Google is bringing AI Mode to 180 new countries in English. Until now, it was only available in the U.S., U.K., and India. The company says it plans to bring the feature to more languages and regions soon.
AI Mode is built for complex, multi-part questions with the ability to follow up in the same query flow. The global rollout is intended to make these richer search interactions broadly accessible. The move aligns with Google’s stated goal of letting users “dig deeper” on topics without leaving Search.
New agentic and personalized features
Reservations, tailored results, and sharing
Google is adding agentic capabilities that let users find restaurant reservations inside AI Mode. People can specify party size, date, time, location, and preferred cuisine; AI Mode then searches across reservation platforms to surface real-time availability and presents a curated list of options.
This reservations capability is rolling out for Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. through the “Agentic capabilities in AI Mode” experiment in Labs. Yahoo Finance notes that Ultra is Google’s highest-end plan at $249.99 per month.
Google also says U.S. users in the AI Mode experiment will now see results tailored to individual preferences and interests, starting with dining-related topics. For example, if someone asks, “I only have an hour, need a quick lunch spot, any suggestions?” AI Mode can use past conversations and places searched or clicked in Search and Maps to give more relevant suggestions, such as highlighting Italian options or outdoor seating when those preferences are inferred.
Users can adjust personalization settings in their Google Account. In addition, AI Mode adds a Share button so people can send an AI Mode response to others, allowing collaborators to jump into the same conversation. According to TechCrunch, Google positions this as helpful for planning scenarios like trips or birthday parties.
