Google is rolling out Search’s AI Mode to more people worldwide and introducing new features that help find and book dining reservations with specific preferences. According to The Verge, the AI-powered interface is expanding to 180 countries and territories and remains available in English.
Global rollout and “agentic” dining bookings
The expansion opens the chatbot-like search experience beyond the US, UK, and India, letting users query topics through conversational prompts. Google is also building agentic capabilities into AI Mode, beginning with restaurant bookings for Google AI Ultra subscribers. Users can ask about reservations while specifying details such as date, time, location, party size, and cuisine.
AI Mode will surface options by scanning reservation platforms and restaurant websites, then present a list of available slots. From there, users can select a restaurant and be linked directly to the booking page to complete the reservation. The Verge notes that Google says it is working with OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, Booksy, and other platforms to support the feature. Subscribers can try it by enabling the “Agentic capabilities in AI Mode” experiment in Labs.
Personalized results and sharing tools
Google is making AI Mode’s responses more personal for users in the US who have opted into the AI Mode experiment in Labs. For now, personalization applies to dining-related topics. AI Mode can draw on previous conversations and reference places a user has searched for or clicked on to generate more relevant recommendations. For example, asking for a lunch spot may reflect prior interest in Italian cuisine or vegan options.
Linking searches for collaboration
Additionally, US users can share their AI Mode results via a link. A new Share button copies the chat link so it can be pasted into a message, allowing friends or family to pick up the search thread. Google says shared links can be viewed and deleted at any time.
The Verge adds that the global availability means more users can try AI Mode’s conversational approach to search, with English support at launch. The agentic restaurant booking capability, personalization, and link sharing are positioned as early steps toward making AI Mode more useful for planning and coordination.
