Figure AI has revealed its latest humanoid robot that can handle everyday household tasks. According to PCMag, the California startup introduced Figure 03 on Thursday, showing the robot performing chores like folding clothes, washing dishes, and watering plants. The company says Figure 03 is a general-purpose robot designed for everyday use.
What Figure 03 Can Do
The robot stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 132 pounds. In a demo video, Figure 03 picks up a cup and dish from a living room, walks to the kitchen sink, and rinses them with water. It then opens the dishwasher and places the items inside. The robot also tidies rooms, serves food, and performs other household tasks.
Figure 03 runs on a system called Helix, which is the company’s own AI technology. Helix controls the robot in real time without following preset instructions. Figure AI previously used OpenAI’s models but switched to its own software. CEO Brett Adcock said nothing in the video is teleoperated, meaning the robot works without remote human control.
Battery Life and Charging
The robot can run for up to 5 hours on a single charge. It recharges wirelessly by standing on a platform that connects through its feet. Figure AI says the new model costs less to make than earlier versions.
When You Might See It
Figure AI has not announced a price or release date yet. The company plans to test Figure 03 with select partners first. Adcock told Time Magazine the company wants the robot to handle most home tasks on its own all day. He said they hope to reach that goal in 2026.
The robot includes cameras in each palm that provide close-range visual feedback. These cameras help Helix maintain awareness when the main cameras are blocked, such as when reaching into cabinets. The system uses continuous visual input to adjust its movements in real time.
Figure 03 is also designed for commercial use. The company’s video shows it delivering packages, working on assembly lines, and serving as a restaurant waiter. Figure AI’s master plan states these robots can eliminate unsafe and undesirable jobs, letting people live more purposeful lives.
