Adobe launches Acrobat Studio, an AI hub beyond PDFs

Adobe has introduced Acrobat Studio, a new platform that blends Acrobat with Adobe Express and AI assistants to manage and work across many file types in one place. According to The Verge, the app is designed to handle more than PDFs, letting users consolidate information from multiple sources into a single workspace.

“PDF Spaces” bring files and web content together

Acrobat Studio allows users to upload up to 100 items — including PDFs, web pages, and Microsoft 365 files — and organize them into collaborative environments called “PDF Spaces.” These spaces pull file and website information into what Adobe describes as “conversational knowledge hubs,” enabling work on multiple documents without leaving Acrobat.

Within these hubs, users can view and sign agreements related to a project, consolidate research and notes, and leverage built-in Express tools to transform data into infographics or visual assets for sharing with colleagues and clients. The idea, as outlined by The Verge, is to evolve Acrobat from a traditional PDF reader and editor into a broader productivity platform that supports varied content types and workflows.

AI assistants built into the workspace

Acrobat Studio includes customizable AI agents inside PDF Spaces that build on AI features previously released for standard Acrobat. These assistants can be used by individuals and teams to provide insights, recommendations, and notes, and can generate ideas and citations from the assembled data.

Availability and early access pricing

The Verge reports that Acrobat Studio is available globally in English starting today. The product includes unlimited access to PDF Spaces, AI Assistants, and Adobe Express Premium, and is offered as a separate subscription that can replace Adobe’s Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro plans.

Early access pricing starts at $24.99 per month for individuals and $29.99 per month for teams on an annual contract. The Verge notes that it’s unclear what the pricing will increase to when the early-access offer expires on October 31st.

Adobe positions Acrobat Studio as a centralized hub for pulling together files and web content, collaborating in shared spaces, and using integrated AI and design tools to generate outputs directly within the workflow.
